Trainer and GP urologist with research interests in Asthma. Involved in development of medical information for the internet.
Dr Pillinger has worked as General Practitioner in Highcliffe since 1986.
During this time he has developed particular clinical interest in the areas of Male Health, Urology - including sexual health, Nutrition, Cardiovascular & Respiratory Medicine. His other related interests include the implementation of clinical guidelines and the development of new models for the delivery of primary care. In 1999 he was awarded an NHS Beacon Practice Award for Primary Care Service Development and is an honorary Clinical Assistant in Urology at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital Trust, holding a weekly clinic at the Medical Centre in Highcliffe. Between 1990 and 2002, he was directly involved in General Practice Training and still holds the post of Medical Student Teacher and Research Supervisor - Department of Primary Care, University of Southampton.
